of latent intuitive ability. It is part of our biology and natural born instincts. Beginning to work with your intuition often feels like you’re trying to catch a fish with your bare hands. Often times, you come up with nothing and you say, “I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t have the ability.” You do have the intuitive ability. It just needs to be developed into a skill. Your innate intuition is often unfamiliar because you didn’t recognize it, and you don’t recognize it because your intuition system is an integral part of you. Taking the first steps in noticing your elementary intuition system can help you get a handle on yours. To give you some hints on noticing your ability, here are some experiences that you may have already had that are signs that you have intuitive power. I often share from my personal experiences and my students find it exceedingly helpful because it’s easier to relate to, and you may, too. Here are some things you may have said to yourself or experienced indicating your intuition is working on a subtle level. 1. Familiarity of Experiences To begin with, the first sign involves familiarity of your experiences. Have you ever found yourself saying, “I knew that (s) he was going to pick that up.” or “I knew they would turn down that road or aisle, etc.?” For the longest time, I didn’t think I had any childhood experiences of intuition. They were subtle and fleeting incidents that I shrugged off as coincidence. For example, I remember a few times someone would do something that I had a premonitory flash of thought where I knew what they were going to do before they did it. It was not a long drawn out detailed thought or thoughts; it was just a fleeting flash of knowing someone was going to pick up an object in front of me, even though they had no indication they would do so. Sometimes, it would be a knowing. For example, I’d encounter a group of strangers and know where they were going, even though I didn’t know them nor where they came from. 2. Noticing Coincidences A second sign that your intuition is working is when you have May 2015 A Editi on
